Hardware Shell Detection Notification

Have you ever looked at your dashboard and been annoyed that you can't get rid of that stupid services notification that says that the "Hardware Shell Detection" service has stopped? Starting the service doesn't help! It will always be there if you don't have some active login on the server. To disable this crazy notification do the following in Server 2012 R2.

  1. Click on the Dashboard
  2. In the "All Services" pane click on "Services"
  3. Click the drop down menu next to "Services"
  4. Find the "Hardware Shell Detection" service and uncheck it.
