ArcINFO Installation Notes

This document describes three installation scenarios. First the main data repository machine that will contain all the data for the dig. ArcINFO will be installed, but so will SQLExpress which will hold the data. The second install is for users Post Processing data to create visualizations, maps and scenes. The third installation type is the data collector install. This is the install of the software that we are writing. You can find more information about the software on its own project page: SouthernsArchaeologyDataCollectionProject.

Main Data Repository Machine

1. Install ArcGIS Desktop
2. Install ArcGIS Tutorial Data (optional)
3. Install ArcSDE
   1. Install the SQLExpress edtion with SSMSEE (SQL Server Management Studio Express Edition) I recommend a complete installation - all options
   2. Install the ArcSDE portion
4. ArcGIS VBA Resources for Developers
5. ArcGIS Desktop SDK for Microsoft .NET Framework

Post Processing Machines

Recommend installs:

1. Install ArcGIS Desktop
2. Install ArcGIS Tutorial Data (optional)
3. ArcGIS VBA Resources for Developers
