Airport Advisory Areas exist at noncontrolled airports that have a FlightServiceStation (FSS) located on the airport. The FSS provides advisory (not control) information on traffic, weather, etc., to requestion aircraft. Accordingly, pilots should (NOT MUST) contact FSSs for advisory services.
