Installing Client

  1. Enable remote desktop connections

Connect to your pfSense/OPNSense machine and finish configuring pfSense/OPNSense. See InstallFirewall

  1. Use your key given in eClass and activate your installation for windows.
  2. Install updates! You can't use remote desktop until updates are installed.
  3. Find and install the remote administration tools. (Hint: you can do this through powershell easier than through the GUI)

  4. Install Windows Admin Center
  5. Test remote desktop to your "public" IP on your firewall (not the 192.168.1.1 address).

Ubuntu install (NOT FOR CPTR 230)

  1. Install Ubuntu.
  2. Install xrdp
    1. apt-get install xrdp
  3. Review Ubuntu information about some issues that you may need to address.

  4. Test remote desktop to your "public" IP on your firewall (not the 192.168.1.1 address).
