= Archaeology Database Development Meeting Notes = ---- == Jan 7, 2010 == Present: Scot Anderson, Michael Hasel, Justo Morales === Topics Discussed: === Topics Reviewed: Work on database up to this point * Datamodel * Site/field information * Time investment * Earth Locus === Notes: === 1. Pottery Bucket Reading Information is not on one of the forms and will be different from what we have on MPP documentation. 1. We discussed how to record elevations for pottery buckets separate from daily elevations for the locus. After discussion, Michael indicated that we did not need to collect intermediate elevations for the bucket. In the future this may change though. 1. Noticed that "Location" should really be replaced by "Point Number" on several sections (This is an MPP change for new type of point collection). We discussed some issues related to the Photo Application Specifications - see the notes on that page. The designation in the identification section should be a drop down that equates to what the locus actually "is". These are equivalent symbols in the levels section of MPP. Therefore the dropdown in the levels should be taken from here. This will be an item on the Program Change Requests page. === Customer Todo Items === * Justo: Will get me information for the pottery reading fields and the type by which the pottery is classified. * Michael: Will email me information on the final cost of the summer internship. ---- == Jan 21, 2010 == Present: Scot Anderson, Justo Morales Topics Discussed: * Reviewed Architectural Locus Form Milestone * Pottery Reading Information Form. === Notes === We looked at the Architectural form that was completed for this meeting. No changes were requested at this time. We reviewed discussion of "Location" attribute information on several parts of the form. For pails specifically we reiterated a decision earlier to remove it from consideration. Where specific location information is needed, a point identifier will be entered in location. We had an extensive discussion of what we need to record during the pottery readings. Results of that discussion can be found at Pottery. This discussion took up the bulk of our time in the meeting. ---- == Jan 28, 2010 == Present: Scot Anderson, Michael Hasel, Justo Morales. Topics Discussed: * Briefly looked at the Architectural form with Michael. * Reviewed Pottery reading - see link for updates. * Discussed Daily Square Summary * Discussed Square closing summary === Notes === In reviewing the form, several changes were requested to simple things on the forms. See Program Changes. Additions were requested to the interpretation section, but would endanger the time table for completing the project at this time. Reviewed pottery reading data collected at the reading itself. After much discussion, we are sticking with the format given at Pottery. However, Michael will provide specifics for what will go in each dropdown field (i.e. type and subtype). For discussion on the summary forms, see Daily Square Summary and Square Closing Summary. ---- == Feb 4, 2010 == Present: Scot Anderson, Michael Hasel, Justo Morales === Agenda === * Discuss Locus sheet Reports and the elements of the Square Note book. After this meeting we will start on the reports and we need to know detailed information about what is required. Please bring samples of all the forms that will be needed by our Israeli counterpart. * Review Locus Forms - these will be completed at this time. * Review the Program Changes page and check off items completed. === Notes === Reviewed logistics for next summer and discussed several alternatives for housing and personnel. Reviewed Additional pottery information (See Pottery for updates coming soon). Added Michael Dant to the discussion at the end. ----
